We are so excited to announce that we have partnered with Purposeful Nomad to bring you a truly unique trip to Morocco with a focus on Moroccan rugs and the artisans behind these works of art!
We will learn about the traditions and techniques of rug making that have been passed down through generations and will have the opportunity to meet the artisans and see first hand how these beautiful rugs are made. We will visit a Berber market in the Atlas Mountains where we have sourced rugs for Indigo & Saffron as well as our favorite rug shop where you can sort through endless stacks of rugs to find the perfect gem to take home. Don’t worry, there will be pillows, poufs and blankets too!
When we aren’t shopping for and learning all about Moroccan textiles, we will be relaxing in beautiful Riads and taking in all of the sights, sounds, smells and tastes of Fes, Chefchaouen, Asilah and Meknes! During our time together we will take a private architecture tour, visit the archeological site of Volubilis, learn to prepare delicious Moroccan dishes at a cooking class, take a sunset hike into the hills overlooking the blue city of Chefchaouen and explore the artsy beach town of Asilah.
